To me music is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity. It is something that I am passionate about and lucky enough to share with my wife. Our house is a weird mix of guitars, vinyl records and a ukulele.
Imagine my surprise when I was seated across the table from a real icon of mine, Bouwer Bosch. Bouwer is the lead singer of die Straatligkinders, an Afrikaans rock band that burst onto the scene while I was at Tuks. Their song, Gedagte vir die Dag singlehandedly opened my eyes to Afrikaans rock. Sure i was a fan of Fokofpolisiekar, but Straatligkinders made me realise that there was more. Because of them I have found bands like Ef el, Die Tuindwergies and classics like Jan Blohm.
